TAX FORFEITED REAL ESTATE
California has a total of 58 counties. All except 3 or 4 of these counties have numerous parcels of real estate which are sold at public auction each year. Counties such as Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Kern, and Riverside each have hundreds of such parcels. Public records indicate that over 10,000 parcels of real estate are forfeited and offered for sale at public auction each year in this state only.
CERTIFICATE SALES OPTIONAL
Tax Certificates are now
optional
in California. Each Board of County Supervisors can vote to use the
optional
method of selling tax certificates which would bear 18% annual
interest.
There are now three methods of obtaining tax forfeited property in this
state. The first way is "before the tax sale" and the second way is "at
the tax sale" Now, with this new statute in those counties which have
voted
to use the optional method of selling tax certificates, you can acquire
property by the purchase of tax certificates. For those interested in
high
rates of interest by purchasing tax certificate liens, this state as of
this writing, I know of no county which has elected to sell tax
certificates.

SOME TYPICAL SUCCESS STORIES
